The Canadian artist Drake has come a long way and lucky for him he is having a wonderful year so far. Hectic to say the least. We at the ENFNTS TERRIBLES HQ can’t get over his banger titled ‘ One Dance‘. And since the song’s writer hasn’t been crowned anything major yet. We want to share 5 reasons why Drake deserves man of the year .

Because Rolling Stone said so

Apparently we are far from being the only ones rocking our heads and hips to the hit song ‘ One Dance’  by Drake. Even Rolling Stone magazine has a liking for ‘One Dance’. They named the song one of the 30 best songs of the first half of 2016.

It finally happened: The tropical, infectious, sung ‘One Dance’ not only extended Drake’s new-world pop sound but also gave the rapper his first number one solo single.” – Rolling Stone

An unusual come up

Since the artist came out back in 2006 as a rapper and singer with pop tendencies. He released a few independent mixtapes without being signed to any label. It’s only 1 year after his come out that his exposure and influence more than doubled. That being around the time he had  dropped the track ‘Replacement Girl’ directed by Shane Stirling. Within the next months he raised his profile by appearing in a bunch mixtapes and remixes.

Early 2012 Champagne Papi was born. It was one of his ambitions to start a record label. OVO Sound record label with friend Noah Shebib was born. As the face of his label he also launched the “October Very Own” clothing line.

Drake almost wrote history with ‘One Dance’

The singer slash rapper has had a long stretch on the Number 1 spot of the UK Official Chart. We must say ruling  the charts for 15 weeks straight is a big deal. He only surpassed songs like Bohemian Rapsody by Queens who stayed 14 weeks on the number 1 spot. Champagne Papi we admire your hard work!

Drake’s mind-blowing net worth

7 Reasons Why Drake Deserves Man of the YearWith a net worth of $100 million the 29 years young ‘Headlines’ singer dominates the 17th place on Top 100 Richest Rappers – list this year. Could it be that the young money artist wants to trade in some of that ‘young money’ for ‘big money’ ? P. Diddy – worth $735M at the age of 46 – is only 16 places away. Nevertheless Drake is making big moves in the studio and on the charts. That makes him worth keeping on the ENFNTS TERRIBLES radar, just in case of.

GQ approved

GQ chose Drake as one of it’s most stylish men alive this year. The man himself has done many efforts not to be reckoned with style wise. His past red carpet appearances proved that style is in fact a part of his DNA.

Drake is a cultural phenomenon

Drake is known for making the word YOLO popular in the United States first, in sync with his single ‘The Motto‘. The word has been adopted globally by the younger generations who also stand for the carpe diem lifestyle.

‘Hotline Bling’ went viral thanks to the epic dance moves we all laughed to. The video was chopped and screwed and profoundly criticized. But still everybody loves a funny Drake meme in the morning. However despite that the r&b song became trending on YouTube. And you couldn’t miss the hilarious parodies. The all-time successful parody was Bart Baker’s version of ‘Hotline bling‘.
