Is it the fresh sea air, the French vibe or our personal taste? We have the impression that celebs always look more stylish than usual at the Cannes film festival. No overdose of weird “crying out for attention” looks but the good old classics instead. This year even a touch of denim made it to the carpet. If Paris is our favorite fashion week than Cannes definitely is the film festival we prefer, at least when it comes to fashion.
A touch of rock ‘n roll: Marion Cotillard and Robin Wright
A stylish red carpet look doesn’t always have into involve tulle, silk and embroidery. So have proven Marion Cotillard (in Y/Project) and Robin Wright (in Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello). When it comes to bending the rules, Cotillard is officially this edition’s winner. Two years ago there still was a huge fuss about whether women had to wear heels or not. Now the French actress shines in a casual chique (and very beautiful) denim look. A small step for Marion, a giant step for Cannes.
It was to be expected that Bella Hadid and Rihanna would both appear in Dior since they’re ambassadors of the brand. Compared to last edition, Bella was wearing a rather “safe” choice. But she totally nailed the look. And Riri managed to make that gigantic cream dress look rock ‘n roll. The modern classic beauty.
The timeless & flawless Uma, Tilda and Juliette
These three know the drill. Uma (dressed in Atelier Versace), Juliette (dressed in Chloé) and Tilda (dressed in Haider Ackermann) all look stunning. In all these years they hardly disappointed, not on the screen and neither on the red carpet.
Madonna, if you need an outfit for the MET Gala again next year, maybe you should have a chat with one of these 3 ladies before the event. Age doesn’t matter but the outfit definitely does.
