With this article we’d want to congratulate Netflix by canceling Sens8, one of the best series in its offer right now. Finally they had something that was a representation of the actual society. With a great universal cast (for once the actors weren’t random Americans who had to pretend to be German, Indian or Korean). And that wonderful, thrilling, emotional, raw storyline that kept us excited every episode. Literally everyone could find him or herself in Sens8, whether it was in a character or in a situation. The series connected entire continents, races, genders, sexes and sexual preferences. On top, the fans stay behind alone, waiting for a fucking major cliffhanger. Thanks again, Netflix!

Why Netflix, why?

Cindy Holland, vice president of original content for Netflix, said in a statement. “It is everything we and the fans dreamed it would be: bold, emotional, stunning, kick ass, and outright unforgettable. Never has there been a more truly global show with an equally diverse and international cast and crew, which is only mirrored by the connected community of deeply passionate fans all around the world. We thank Lana, Lilly, Joe and Grant for their vision, and the entire cast and crew for their craftsmanship and commitment.” Yeah right Cindy, yeah right! Apparently their hit ratio was also way too high, whatever that means…

To keep a long and uninteresting story short, Netflix has made a stupid decision. First of all because they cancelled Sens8 and secondly because of dropping the news right before Pride month. The message is loud & clear. And of course series like 13 Reasons Why are a way bigger hit for them… if Selena Gomez produces the show, we guess we don’t need to spell this out for you. And 13 Reasons was good but with all do respect, it can’t compete with Sens8. At least, that’s our opinion.

Netflix canceling Sens8

Other titles that should have been cancelled instead

We have a bunch of other Originals they could have pulled the plug out instead. The Keepers, Designated Survivors, Degrassi, Love, Easy, Make Mermaids, The Killing, Project Mc2, Shooter, Hemlock Grove and so on. Oh please also: Van Helsing and Shadow Hunters, we’ve had it with vampires by now. It’s a real pity that they choose these rather typical shows over something groundbreaking.
