What isn’t in a name… Don’t let Weekday misguide you because the Scandinavian label does have an interesting selection of weekend gear to offer. Besides its expanded denim collection, range of T-shirts in all shapes and sizes, sweaters and hoodies (amongst others), there are those treasures you want to spend the night in. No, we’re not talking about pajamas here.
Fun fact: the brand actually evolved out of a small clothing shop called Weekend since it was only open on Saturday and Sunday. This store, founded by four friends in 2000, became so popular that it soon expanded opening hours to seven days a week. This new approach obviously needed a new name and Weekday was born. Eight years later the label became part of the H&M group, turned into the mindful fashion and denim brand it is today and extended its action to outside the Swedish borders.
In case you’re a true ENFNTS TERRIBLES fan (which we know you are), you’ve probably read all about the Weekday Zeitgeist project a few weeks ago. This is one of the many initiatives the brand has launched to create consciousness around meaningful topics. During the 2016 holiday season they worked with Civil Right Defenders, an independent human rights organization that works to defend people’s rights to freedom and justice. They joined forces with RSFU, the Swedish Association for Sexuality Education, to produce condoms that are sold in their stores. As a modern brand, Weekday keeps both the future of fashion and the future of society in mind.
Join us at the opening of Weekday n°2 in Antwerp
On Friday the 17th of November there’s a new Weekday store opening in the city of Antwerp. Besides the Kammenstraat, you’ll also be able to shop the Scandinavian label at the Stadsfeestzaal, located in the middle of the biggest shopping street in town. Weekday n°2 will open at 12 and there’s a special Weekday gift for the first 100 shoppers. From 8 till 10 pm there’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for. Yes… a party! If you’re in an extremely energetic mood you can even head to the after-party at Bar Helder, called ‘Hitjes for B:tches – The Blurry Edition‘. Expect fresh tunes, mixed with some of your favorite classics to get you on that vague, misty level. Everyone who attends the pre-party at the new store will receive a free entrance ticket to the after-party and a cocktail on top. And the good news is: YOU ARE INVITED! The only thing you need to do to be part of these epic parties is…
