Last night, the British fashion award show took place in London. The awards are also known as the Oscars of the fashion industry or the British answer to the MET Gala and the list of nominees was fabulous. Although a big part of that fabulous list didn’t make an appearance, there were some memorable guests. Rihanna, who was nominated in the categorie of Urban Luxe Brand for Fenty Puma, didn’t show up to the award show.

The Fashion Awards, in partnership with Swarovski, recognize creativity and innovation in fashion. Celebrating exceptional individuals whose imagination and creativity have broken new ground in fashion over the past 12 months as well as brands and businesses that have transformed the possibilities of fashion today.

The Winners of the 2017 British Fashion Awards

First of all, the night was full of emotional moments. The fashion industry payed tribute to Azzedine Alaïa, as well as Gianni Versace. The BFAs also awarded people like Christopher Bailey (Outstanding Contribution to British Fashion Award), Maria Grazia Chiuri (Swarovski Award For Positive Change) and Donatella Versace (Style Icon) among others. The ultimate award for designer of the year went to Raf Simons for his work at Calvin Klein, obviously.
