Maybe “how to get whatever you want” sounds a bit greedy. And with this article we don’t want you to focus on your little quirks. It’s more about the bigger picture, how self-belief and focussing on the right things can help you to grow in whatever direction you want. A lot of people in our society are obsessed with external factors. The way they’re dressed, how many times they went to the gym, etc… But we seem like to have forgotten to exercise our minds. Yes, that other important body part.
One of the many books written about this subject must be the secret. It’s a best-seller published in 2006 by Rhonda Byrne. Personally it’s not our favorite, we find it most confusing. But it made “the law of attraction” famous, which definitely is a good thing.
So what is the law of attraction all about? It’s actually pretty simple: you get what you attract. Have you ever noticed that once you ended up in a negative mindset, it’s hard to get out of it? Or when something really good happens to you, the first thing you think is “this can’t last forever”? Well, that’s where many of us make a mistake. We tend to underestimate ourselves and our abilities. When you have negative thoughts from the beginning, how do you expect the outcome to be positive.
Same with when you really really want something. It maybe won’t reach you right away but when the desire is big enough, you will eventually get it. And by this we don’t mean the lottery, a yacht or the latest Balenciaga bag. The law of attraction can be about physical goods but in the first place it’s about you reaching the things you want to reach. We all want to be rich (and famous) but in the end that’s not the essence of life.
A powerful tool
Our mind is a powerful tool and we don’t know how to use it. Yes, 1 + 1 = 2 and Columbus discovered the American continent in 1492. At our jobs we can do what’s expected of us and we can pull things of in the household. But when it comes to knowing ourselves, what’s going on on a not so conscious level, we fail. In the Western world, we learned how to be square, not to be round. “What you see is what you get” but what’s behind the eye?
It seems like we have forgotten to be in touch with ourselves and the things surrounding us. Our minds never get enough rest to become a powerful tool. No wonder, many of us ended up in a downward spiral. How can you even be aware of what you want to attract when you’re on an express train with no stops.
Emptying the room
If you have no idea on how to start practicing on the law of attraction, maybe it’s a good thing to set some things straight. Get rid of stuff you don’t need, empty your mind. And meet yourself all over again. You won’t change your mindset overnight but every step is progress. And before you fully realize it, you’ll have gotten whatever you want.
