SS17 brings us Primerose Yellow, Pale Dogwood and Lapis Blue. But also Greenery, Kale and Flame… speaking of ugly trend colors. Who on earth would want to look like a kale? Or like an orange? It’s clear that these aren’t our personal favorites. But every season there are designers and style icons who get away with it. They prove once again that with a great styling, you can rule every shitty shade.
The SS17 Pantone pallet
Green, greener, greenery
We generally only appreciate the color green when it’s linked to nature. Definitely the grass green variant. It can look cool in an outfit but you have to make sure it’s very, very well combined. When styling isn’t your strongest quality, we do recommend you start with kale. Matches perfectly with all cream variations as you can see on the Hellessy runway picture.
Good old orange… you look great on almost no one. Like its green colleague, this color only falls nicely with the round piece of fruit that’s carrying the same name. But since we’re still in the 90’s vibe, we better make an effort to come up with some good combinations. Light blue for example, match made in heaven. And the black / white styling isn’t that bad either. Let’s give orange a chance!
