Fashion month is at full force and Milan is currently giving its best. The Italian fashion capital is hosting shows of close to a hundred designers. We know, it’s impossible to keep up with each and everyone of them. But don’t worry, we’ve got your back! Our team has been following Milan Fashion Week with great interest and made a list of designers worth seeing.

First of all we’d like to say that after the fall of the Roman empire, the Renaissance and Baroque period and the glorious days of fashion in the 90’s. The Italians are really getting back on track. For a while it seemed like Paris had entirely taken over the fashion landscape. But Italians won’t allow to be forgotten. They’re almost like frisbees… gone for a little while but they always find a glamorous way to come back.

There are only a few designers that can really translate emotion onto the catwalk. Dries Van Noten has always been one of them. And Alessandro Michele definitely joined the club. The show and the collection were bombastic and magical. It was like we were on another perfect planet for just a few seconds. How he mixes old and new in a majestic way with that subtle touch of typical Gucci branding.

We know you were a hero Tom Ford but right now we might just have joined the Michele fan club!

Also our contributor Joppe agreed by tweeting: “That new Gucci collection speaks to me on an emotional level”. We couldn’t agree more!

Max Maraenfntsterribles_mfw_max_mara_ss17_01

Max Mara kept is quite simple, but in a brilliant way. We’re dying to wear the sweater on the left. Max Mara was also sporting one of the MFW trends so far; belts! Combined with a few tropical prints, statement jumpsuits and easy silhouettes.

Fendienfntsterribles_mfw_fendi_ss17_01

We’ve always loved Fendi, so we were excited to see what Karl had in store for us this time. Fendi’s Spring Summer 2017 collection is colorful and playful. There were some really bold color combinations that kept it really interesting to see.

Emilio Puccienfntsterribles_mfw_emilio_pucci_ss17_01

We’re going to be completely honest with you. In our opinion the 14 first looks of Emilio Pucci’s runway show were not that good. If the designer had kept out these silhouettes, it would have been an amazing show. But he made up with the rest of the collection. We’re usually not that into huge prints, but the ones at Emilio Pucci’s runway show were executet in a brilliant way.

Prada is one of those legendary brands who are reclaiming their title of King of the fashion industry. The Italian brand was having a hard time, some seasons ago, but it’s putting out great collections lately. Prada is redefining itself and we’re loving it!

Bottega Venetaenfntsterribles_mfw_bottega_veneta_ss17_01

Bottega Veneta was celebrating its 50th anniversary and because of that, they brought some modeling legends to their runway. The one and only Lauren Hutton made a fabulous comeback at the Spring Summer 2017 runway of Bottega Veneta. She did that alongside Gigi Hadid and others like Anna Cleveland and Bella Hadid. The collection itself was stunning, very Bottega Veneta, clean and classy chic.

Versaceenfntsterribles_mfw_versace_ss17_01

Donatella Versace showed her Spring Summer 2017 collection on a super model filled runway. Adriana Lima, Gigi, Bella Hadid, Doutzen and even Naomi Campbell were there to present the collection. It was filled with bold, sporty looks. It seems like Versace wants her girls to be more than just arm candy and move on to better places. The new Versace woman is a feminist who likes to work out.

Marnienfntsterribles_mfw_marni_ss17_01

Marni brought its A-game to the runway on Sunday. The Marni SS17 runway featured jumpsuits, oversized sleeves and a new take on the fanny pack. We particularly loved the original plan on proportion and the fact that all of the looks were in a single color or print.
