Paris men’s fashion week came to an end last Sunday. The same day Paul Smith showed his fall/winter 2017 collection on 14 rue Bonaparte. It was at the école nationale supérieur des beaux-arts that the fashion crowd gathered. They were all there to catch a glimpse of the Paul Smith garments that’ll be in stores in a few months. The venue was packed and guess who joined the pack? The queen herself; Anna Wintour. We captured the queen on camera and put her on our INSTAGRAM.

The show

As for the next big fall trends, we saw a lot of items we’ve also spotted at other shows. Prints like plaid, the color red and lots of knitwear. Though mostly plaid was present on the catwalk, the focus was all in the finishing touches.

The iconic done-again stripes were made invisible to the naked eye and replaced by embroideries and prints inspired by an English subculture from the 60’s. On the other hand, there were multi-color plume prints that came back to life on a silk bomber jacket. Seeing the fabrics and detailing from close in their Parisian showroom gave us a much better understanding of Paul Smith’s trademark style. Now we can truly say that we are enthusiasts to the brand.

Take a look at the fall/winter 2017 show.
