This trend has been on our radar for quite a while now, so we decided to do something with it. The Fall/Winter 2016 runways were filled with sleepwear as outerwear and we’re totally into it! That’s right, pyjamas are a street style trend now! Dreams coming true. Fashion trends can look great on the runway, but when it comes to recreating them, nailing the look can be easier said than done. That’s exactly why we decided to show you how it’s done, Enfnts Terribles-style.

Quality

The challenge of pulling off this PJ trend is to NOT look cheap. Probably one of the most important things you need to keep in mind is the quality of the pyjama’s. For this editorial we used the silk and velvet ones from The Cocoonalist and Baum Und Pferdgarten. Both are rather expensive but worth every penny.

Sleepwear as outerwear is something you have to invest in. Apart from the fact that silk and velvet are some of the softest fabrics out there, it’s also the best looking when it comes to sleepwear. It’ll give you a free pass to walk around in public wearing the most comfortable garments of them all: pyjamas.

Know how to style your PJ outfit

When you’re the one being brave enough to try on this trend, you’ve got to make sure to own it in every way possible. First of all, and this counts for every outfit or style, wear it with pride. If you wear something with pride and with the right attitude, you’re already halfway there. Second, know how to style your pyjama outfit. When wearing sleepwear as outerwear, you’ve got to add some key pieces to make it look good. Adding the right sunglasses or coat can do miracles. Take a quick look at the look with the Burberry coat, for example. Our gorgeous male model Viktor pulled of that look perfectly.

Celebs love it

For women, it’s already happening. Look at Selena Gomez, Kim Kardashian, Zendaya,… they’re all doing it! Men, however, should dare to wear this trend, too. We don’t think it’s going to take long for streetstyle stars like Luka Sabbat, Jared Leto and more rock this trend. So we’re challanging you guys to be avant-garde enough to at least try it. The PJ trend is already taking over cities like Paris, New York and Los Angeles. The rest of the world will soon follow. Mark our words!

Have a look at our very first editorial and get inspired! There’s more to come.
