Raf Simons has been the subject of a lot of rumors already. The latest one is about him taking over the role of Francisco Costa and Italo Zucchelli as creative director at Calvin Klein. There have been a lot of speculations about what would be next for Simons. This one, though, is kind of already confirmed by Calvin Klein himself. Let’s break it down.

Oktober 2015, After weeks of rumors Simons confirms he’s leaving Dior. After the announcement, the fashion business was shocked and devastated. Simons blames the fucked up system of today’s fashion scene and starts a debate about the ‘see now/buy now’ model and more. In the months following to Raf leaving Dior, numerous Creative Directors leave their position at multiple fashoin houses.

Francisco Costa and Italo Zucchelli leave Calvin Klein

In April 2016 Costa and Zucchelli announced their departure at Calvin Klein. The two designers had to leave because of a strange of strategy at the populat fashion house. “This creative strategy marks the beginning of another significant chapter in Calvin Klein’s brand legacy since Mr. Klein’s retirement,” chief executive Steve Shiffman said in a statement. “I would like to thank Francisco and Italo for their unwavering commitment to the Calvin Klei
n brand and their accomplishments over the past decade. They have both contributed immensely to making Calvin Klein a global leader in the fashion industry, and they have done so with dedication, focus and creativity.”

Raf Simons for Calvin Klein?

Calvin klein hasn’t officially announced a new creative director yet. But the rumours about Raf Simons taking over Costa and Zucchelli’s role at Calvin Klein are getting real. Recently, Calvin Klein weighed in on the situation in an interview. “They just finally made changes in the design staff,” he said. “They won’t announce [who it is] publicly because it’s under contract. But the whole industry knows.”
In other words. The man himself basically confirmed Simons’ arrival at Calvin Klein.
