Return of the MAC: Why we’re loving the new MAC Shadescents

MAC cosmetics, cult-favorite and personal go-to of many beauty addicts around the world, decided that the time had come to re-introduce itself into the fragrance world. So insert the MAC shadescents: a six scent eau de parfums collection inspired by their six most iconic lipstick shades.

Creme d’Nude and Lady Danger: understated & Provocative:

From the understated beauty called Creme d’ Nude to the provocative confidence that comes with Lady Danger. These universal (and unisex) scents are the perfect finishing touch for any look or occasion. Use alone as a statement or mix and match to create an unique signature that will match your daily mood perfectly. Each scent matches an iconic lipstick color and is inspired by the type of person that would wear that shade.

Candy Yum-Yum and My Heroine: provocative & hypnotic

The bright pink Candy Yum-Yum contains sweet notes of cotton candy and exotic pink guava. This scent is both playful and bubbly. Think of someone who’s getting ready for a girl’s night out… flamboyant, feminine and tad bit cheeky.

My Heroine on the other hand has a deeper flavor. Patchouli, cordovan leather and incense smoke are its key notes. Think about how you would smell after spending Valentine’s day with a handsome man in a Tom Ford suit. See the vision? This one clearly isn’t for the faint-hearted.

Velvet Teddy and Rudy Woo: bold and beautiful

Velvet Teddy delivers a dose of oriental amber which is both sensual and, with lack of a better word, womanly. With ingredients ranging from wild honey, vanilla orchid and liquid musk. The person who wears this scent has a sweet but wild side to them. Let’s just say we have to keep Velvet Teddy (far) away from that handsome Valentine bae we mentioned earlier.

Ruby Woo is inspired by one of the most beautiful and iconic red shades ever created (in my humble opinion). And the scent has a surprising masculine touch. The fragrance starts off as a bold burst of deep red leather and wild cherries. Then it lingers on with a hint of saffron and centifolia rose petals. An absolute timeless fragrance.

The six fragrances are available online and in all MAC stores come tomorrow. They retail for € 51,- each and their corresponding lipsticks get a Limited Edition packaging for the launch. So which one are you dying to try out?
