This week CFDA award winner, Telfar Clemens, delivered the unexpected for its fall-winter 2018 ready-to-wear show. Instead of keeping things traditional by using models and celebrities on their catwalk. The creative director took a different route. He chose to throw a concert with a very fastidious cast of unfamiliar artists and friends of his label. Including singer/songwriter Kelela, models turned singers Adonis Bosso and Alton Mason, Dev Hynes and several more.
After his win at the CFDA, the fashion crowd was impatiently waiting for Telfar Clemens’ first runway show. So treating his guests and partners to an MTV Unplugged worthy mini-concert was the icing on the cake. Ian Isiah, Kelela, Kelsey Lu, Alton Mason, Dev Hynes 070 Shake, Walter Pierce and Oyinda all gathered on stage to perform their cover of a gospel song by Hezekiah Walter dubbed “Grateful”. Scroll up to the header, press play and have a look at how it went down at Telfar’s FW18 ready-to-wear show in New York.
Not surprisingly, each artist wore a look from the very rock’ n’ roll FW18 ready-to-wear collection. You’ll find every garment you saw in the video, and more, in their lookbook below.
