Coming Sunday, February 5th, we will finally get to see what Lady Gaga has prepared for the 51st Super Bowl Halftime Show. Everybody has been looking forward to it, especially because she didn’t spill on any details. The only thing we know is that she probably will also perform some of her previous hits, not only songs from her recent album Joanne. Usually there are guest artists, but it seems like she’s taking the stage all by herself, unless she has a surprise guest up her sleeve. But Gaga is definitely crossing the halftime show off her bucket-list, but which artists have gotten the honour to perform before? These are some of the most iconic Super Bowl halftime show performances.
1. Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake and more – 2004
This performance is famous all around the world, but not for the right reasons. Back in 2004 it wasn’t common practice to see some nipple or boob. So when Justin Timberlake ripped off a bit too much of Janet Jackson’s ensemble, the famous nipslip was history.
2. Prince – 2007
It’s still unbelievable that Prince is not with us anymore. His performance in 2007 was literally one of the best I have ever seen.
3. The Black Eyed Peas and Usher – 2011
I have to admit, the members of The Black Eyed Peas don’t impress me that much with their vocals. But, they sure do know how to put on an INCREDIBLE show!
4. Beyoncé and Destiny’s Child – 2013
Ofcourse Queen B has also slayed the Super Bowl stage. Her performance in 2013 is truly unforgettable, but not only because of the stunning visuals and choreography. Her little comeback with Destiny’s Child was ICONIC.
5. Lady Gaga – 2017
We don’t know yet what the performance will look like, but it’s guaranteed to be unforgettable. La Gaga is known for putting down some amazing and show-stopping performances, and we don’t expect anything else from her. She’s no stranger to the Super Bowl though. Last year she whooped everyone’s ass with the national anthem.
