These Are the Must-Have Accessories of Spring/Summer 2018

The past seasons were ruled by Gucci, tiny crossbody bags, slippers and loafers. In fact, not much has changed when it comes to must-have accessories. Even though we’re happy to welcome at least a few newcomers. In general, we can say that there’s a fun mix of different styles trending at the moment. Kitsch, trashy, clean, sophisticated… it all seems to blend in quite smoothly.

One word: Versace

Spring/Summer 2018 is all about Versace. Not only is The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story a huge hit. But Donatella threw the most iconic show of them all, last September. We predict that the omnipresent Gucci logo will soon make place for Medusa and the very near future definitely looks gold.

Buckets, baskets and belts

When it comes to bags this season, designers have been experimenting with different shapes and materials. There are the sophisticated versions of a bucket and collections filled with belt bags. Also, the basket is clearly planning to stay.

Chunky sneakers

We already spent quite a few articles talking about the dad shoe (chunky sneaker) what’s in a name. Its presence is just undeniable. So we couldn’t leave this one out of the must-have accessories list. The hype started with Balenciaga’s Triple S, which is sold out everywhere. To be honest, we’ve seen too much of it already. If we can give you one piece of advice: go for Adidas’ Ozweego 3 or the Calvin Klein 205W39NYC pair, both designed by Raf Simons. He’s been doing it way before the hype. Also, in Raf we trust.
