Aussie sweetheart Troye Sivan recently announced that he would be releasing a music video for his song ‘Heaven’, featuring Betty Who, on inauguration day. Today he surprised his fans and released the music video one day earlier than planned. Sivan wrote ‘Heaven’ about his struggle with coming out as gay in a religious family. In a YouTube video he explains: “When I first started to realise that I might be gay, I had to ask myself all these questions, these really really terrifying questions. Am I ever going to be able to have a family? If there is a heaven, am I ever going to make it to heaven?”

The video is undeniably a big ‘fuck you’ to Donald Trump’s inauguration, whose administration is very anti-LGBTQ. But Troye Sivan isn’t the only one making a statement against the soon-to-be president Trump. Gorillaz also brought out a song today, after 6 years of silence. They, too, are slaming Trump in a new song called Hallelujah Money.
