The 5 Best Cruelty-Free and Vegan Skin Care Brands

In today’s world, the cruelty-free and vegan market is booming. And not only food-wise, the make-up and skin care world are joining. We become more and more aware of our ethical choices and their impact on our surroundings. Before we give you the list of our favorite brands, you have to know that vegan and cruelty-free are not to be confused. Not all vegan products are cruelty-free, for example, it can still contain honey. But here are some brands that give you amazing skin and do not harm the bees and bunnies:

Glossier

Glossier is famous for its typical Tumblr-girl aesthetic. But this brand is not only esthetically pleasing, their products are great, and cruelty-free. Not all of their products are vegan though, but you can encourage brands to become fully vegan by only supporting their vegan products. It’s very easy to check if the product you’re interested in, is vegan. Below every product they have a clear overview, with more information about the ingredients, and they specifically say when the product is vegan. Thank you Glossier, for making it this easy for us!

Halo Beauty

You may know Tati Westbrook form ending James Charles’ career (if you don’t, where have you been this weekend?). But she also has an amazing skin care vitamin brand. Actually, the whole drama started by James promoting the biggest competitor of Tati’s vitamin brand. And James, sister, that was a mistake, it did not only crush your career, but Halo Beauty is an amazing brand. A great skin does not only require good skin care products but has a lot to do with your health. And that’s where Halo Beauty comes in handy. Halo Beauty provides supplements for your skin, hair and body. Halo Beauty’s supplements are both vegan and cruelty-free. The brand is also very open about their ingredients and there is a long list of what each ingredient does for your skin/hair/nails. And the results of these supplements are just as breathtaking as Tati’s way of ending James’ career.

Delbôve

Delbôve is a Belgian luxury brand with great products. Not only is this brand both vegan and cruelty-free, but it almost exclusively contains natural ingredients. Delbôve uses powerful medicinal plants from nature and science within its unique formulas. Another great plus is that this brand uses packaging existing out of glass, so no plastic! If you compare these products to mainstream brands, they contain way less water, which is so much better for your skin.

E.l.f.

E.l.f. is a very affordable American make-up brand that is (surprise, surprise) vegan and cruelty-free. The brand was also recently Jeffree Star approved, and if you follow him, you know that means a lot. He actually made their website crash. The packaging may remind you of the first brand that we discussed, but it’s way cheaper. So, if you live on a budget, this may be the one for you.

Lush

It would be a crime not to include the best-smelling brand in this list. Lush is known for actively fighting animal testing, by creating awareness about this cruel topic. They claim to be 100% vegetarian, so not all of their products are vegan. But the website is equipped with a handy tool to distinguish vegan products. And just like their bath bombs their skin care is amazing. But if you thought that was all, oh no, this brand is really just that bitch. Everything is handmade, most of their packaging is naked, and if it does contain a bottle, they have a very easy recycle program. Told you, that bitch.

So, now you don’t have any excuses anymore to not go vegan/cruelty-free with your skin care. If you want to check whether or not your favorite products are vegan, there is a very handy app called “Leaping Bunny“, available for IOS and Android. Also, Kylie Jenner has recently announced that she will launch her own skin care brand, Kylie Skin. The first collection will launch 22 may and is completely vegan, cruelty-free, and more so paraben free and sulfate free. We’ll let you know whether or not she’ll make it on this list!
