6 Hot Lipstick Shades For the Summer

Our daily summer make-up essentials: bronzing powder, a good eyebrow pencil, mascara and the right shade of lipstick. A good natural look with just the right amount of color is perfect for a sunny day. We’ve been testing quite some lipsticks, glosses and lacquers the past months and below you can find a list of our personal favorites.

Dior Addict Lacquer Plump in Dio(r)ich

If you like a lacquered and non-sticky lip color, the Dior Addict Lacquer Plump is your best option. This one is rather an ink than a traditional lipstick or gloss, which makes the color last longer. On top of that, it has a volume-boosting, shaping and hydrating effect. A lot in one, we like! Our favorite shade out of the collection is Dio(r)ich, a beautiful dark strawberry pink.

Tom Ford Lip Color in Forbidden Pink

The Tom Ford Lip Color is a creamy lipstick made from soja seed extract, Brazilian Muru Muru butter and chamomile flower oil. You can apply it the usual way but since it’s so creamy, we simply like to add a bit and dab the rest with our fingers for a French kiss effect. It exists in a range of beautiful shades but we slightly prefer the Forbidden Pink one.

Ere Perez Olive Oil Lipstick in High Tea

As you know, Ere Perez is one of our favorite vegan brands. We just tested her olive oil lipstick, which is perfect if your lips suffer from dryness. The effect is rather glossy and not that pigmented so it’s ideal for daily use and to quickly do touch-ups. We started using color High Tea to replace our lip balm.

L’Oréal Paris Color Riche Matte in Hype

Honestly, we weren’t totally in the mood for this color at first. Orange just didn’t seem to be the right shade for us… until we tried it on. This is one of the must-have colors for summer! This lipstick has a matte effect and it’s definitely pigmented but not in an extreme way since it contains oils for hydration. Usually we always use a primer before putting on a matte lipstick but in this case you won’t really need it.

Bobbi Brown Crushed Liquid Lip in Big Apple

This vegan, paraben-free, phthalate-free, sulfite-free, talc-free, mineral oil-free and gluten-free is the latest addition to the Bobbi Brown family. It’s something in between a lipstick, a gloss and a balm and exists in a range of natural shades. We’ve been using it for a few weeks now and it’s a perfect daily lip care companion. Just make sure that you don’t put on too much since it might run.

Diorific Lipstick in shade 760

Last but not least, we’re adding our favorite from the holidays, Diorific, which is still for sale. If we could pick one perfect shade of red out of all red lipsticks we ever used, it must be this one. The Diorific range has a very matte finish so don’t forget to use a primer.
