6 Must-See Musical Acts at Les Nuits 2023 in Le Botanique

The festival season is traditionally kicked off in Brussels with Les Nuits at the legendary concert venue Le Botanique. Spread over several halls and a large festival tent, the most exciting acts find their way to the stage every day, and you can make the most fascinating discoveries there. To guide you through the lineup, we selected six concert nights that you cannot miss because this is your ultimate chance to spend wonderful evenings in a beautiful setting with incredible music.

1. Pitou and Eee Gee

Last summer, Pitou had the great honor of performing at Rock Werchter, where we interviewed her following her debut album, Big Tear. The Amsterdam-born artist will undoubtedly move everyone with her understated indie pop, showing how she conquered a place in our hearts. The Danish Eee Gee will put everyone in the right mood with her equally dreamy songs. An absolute must for sentimental souls, who love to float away by the magic of soft music.

Pitou and Eee Gee will perform on Friday, April 28 at Les Nuits.

2. ELOI and Babysolo33

Hyperpop and ENFNTS TERRIBLES are inseparable for life, which is why we are always looking for new artists within this ever-evolving genre. The French have two interesting acts with ELOI and BabySolo33, whose rave- and Y2K-inspired songs provide just the right touch. Moreover, with “jtm de ouf,” ELOI is for many the artist to keep an eye on this summer because after Les Nuits, ELOI will also grace the stages of DOUR, among others. The future of the French hyperpop scene is looking bright.

ELOI and BabySolo33 will perform on Saturday, April 29 at Les Nuits

3. NiNE8 and David Numwami

Frequent readers of ENFNTS TERRIBLES may be familiar with our series On Our Radar, where we introduce emerging talent. We introduced Belgian singer David Numwami back in 2021, and he continues to capture our attention with his music. He shares the stage at Les Nuits this year with the high-profile London collective NiNE8. With members such as Lava La Rue, Mac Wetha, and Biig Piig, they are considered trendsetters within the British music scene.

NiNE8 and David Numwami will perform on Sunday, April 30 at Les Nuits

4. MEYY, Sabrina Bellaouel and Bobbi Lu

MEYY, Sabrina Bellaouel, and Bobbi Lu form the holy trinity on this year’s Les Nuits poster for all fans of the more exciting electronic work. The Belgian-South Korean MEYY comes to present her latest EP, Digital Gloss, which marks her big breakthrough. The French-Algerian Sabrina Bellaouel has her captivating debut album El Hadr in tow, and the Belgian-British Bobbi Lu is coming to live up to her punishing live status. Not to be missed.

MEYY, Sabrina Bellaouel, and Bobbi Lu will perform on Friday, May 5 at Les Nuits

5. DEBBY FRIDAY

In the list of our favorite discoveries of the year, the Nigerian-Canadian DEBBY FRIDAY is somewhere at the very top of the list. Her debut album, GOOD LUCK, has become an unparalleled manifesto of her talent, where she blossoms and grows into a beautiful butterfly. So believe us when we tell you that this is the show you don’t want to miss at this edition because her sense of dark yet light melodies is bound to appeal to fans of SHYGIRL and Sevdaliza.

DEBBY FRIDAY will perform on Saturday, May 6 at Les Nuits

6. Lancey Foux

The multi-talented rapper, model, and producer Lancey Foux is touring Europe with his sixth album, LIFE IN HELL, and is also stopping at the Orangery of the Botanique to present his new project. In the past, the British artist has already collaborated with Skepta and KAYTRANADA, but it is his inventive productions that make him so special and unique to us. Hip hop of the highest order.

Lancey Foux will perform on Saturday, May 6 at Les Nuits
