We saw fifty shades of brown, half-tucked shirts and pajama-inspired shirts. That’s right, the PJ trend is finally making its way into the menswear runways. And we’re loving it! Velvet is another womenswear trend we saw at quite some menswear runways so far, just like the Louis Vuitton one. The long-rumored Louis Vuitton x Supreme collaboration made a debut, too.
The inspiration
Jones’ inspiration was quite clear. The dynamic New York culture of the recent past – the seventies, eighties, early nineties – is the point of excursion for the Fall/Winter 2017 collection. “It’s uptown and downtown,” says Kim Jones, Louis Vuitton Men’s Artistic Director. “Artists and musicians, friends and heroes.”
The collection is an ode to the multitude of styles that co-exist and co-mingle in New York City. At its heart is the notion of collaboration – the fusing of two separate parts, a creative journey towards a new whole. Which is clearly pointing at the collaboration with Supreme.
