World Premiere: Wåvery Melts Your Heart with Dreamy Debut ‘Twisted’

Jessie Thijs was just nineteen when she participated in the Flemish version of ‘The Voice’, but three years later, the young singer definitely knows which direction she wants to go in. She’s been writing songs for a while now, but was never sure enough of the result. Until now, because she’s finally releasing her debut single “twisted” today.

Her first release is a very special one, because it’s the start of a brand-new chapter. Thijs reintroduces herself under the moniker “wåvery”, which isn’t necessarily linked to her beautiful curled hair. In fact, it means that we all stand dodgy sometimes and the little ball above the “a” is the Swedish symbol for a river.

Twisted mind

“Twisted” is bedroom pop at its best and certainly knows how to impress us. With bittersweet melodies and her soft voice, wåvery creates a magnificent vibe. In the self-written song, wåvery talks about feeling different and wanting to hide. “Hiding is sometimes way easier than being vulnerable. It’s as if you would say that from tomorrow on, you’re going to be yourself but it doesn’t happen.” she says about the inspiration of the song. Illustrating the desire to start living as your true authentic self, wåvery encourages us all to be ourself by opening up about her own struggles.

White meets pastel

For her first music video, Jessie teamed up with NICTURES to create a pastel dreamworld. In a white decor, the pastel red and blue pop out and give that little visual twist. It’s sober, but has this elegant and dreamy sense that makes it interesting. To celebrate the release of her debut song, we’re exclusively premiering her dreamy video. We’re sure, you’re gonna love it.
