Gala grew up in a creative household. Her dad is a painter, and former musician and has a workshop next-door to her bedroom, which she can use as well. “I love to paint and draw. Whenever I can, I pick something up and just try to make something.”
Creativity is key
Gala has a massive year behind her as she’s the most recent winner of The Voice Kids in Flanders and got immediately signed by Universal Music. Right after her victory, she released her first single “Contagious”, and there’s a lot more to come. “We’re currently making demos, and I want to try out as many genres as possible because I’m still looking for the music I’d like to make,” she says, adding that she already has some preferences.
If there’s something Gala doesn’t want, it’s that everything rushes too fast. The first single was made within a deadline of two weeks, but she’ll be taking time before releasing something next. “I don’t like to work under pressure, and I try to focus on making real art.” Her determination to make something memorable and create an experience just shows how much she cares about her craft. She doesn’t want to be a mainstream artist but wants to tell her story from her perspective. Her creativity and integrity really surprised us, and we’re sure that this young singer will make it far!
