A cosmopolitan soul
Born in Belgium from British and South African parents, Moli grew up in a multicultural household in which music, arts and culture were always given a significant spot. Whether it was through her violin lessons or the post-punk records her dad would play to her, she quickly immersed herself into songwriting and eventually moved to Berlin to develop her own sound.
Swapping violins for singing and vocals, the artist kicked off her career as a singer-songwriter in 2018 with the release of her very first single, “Didn’t Mean To”. She dropped her debut EP a few months later via Majestic Casual, steadily making a name for herself within the local pop community. Building on her achievements and determination, she successfully unveiled the self-produced “Nowhere” and “Lonely Nights” in 2019, before packing her suitcase and heading to London.
In UK’s capital, she crossed paths with renowned producer Chris Zane (Passion Pit, Friendly Fires, Bat for Lashes, etc). It was meant to be: the pair instantly started working together, taking inspiration from each other’s creative endeavors. Their collaboration led to multiple tracks tainted by Moli’s soft spot for 70s French films and 80s glam, with “Something I Said” reaching more than 2 millions streams on Spotify.
