The last few days, Gucci teased us with short clips from the Aria show taping. In one of them, Jared Leto says, “People are gonna lose their mind!” and we did. Also American singer Miley Cyrus appeared in a promotional self-shot Instagram clip while wearing a green Gucci suit. The show itself was filled with atypical music, but all of the song titles had “Gucci” in them.

Gucci Brought Balance(iaga)

Michele wanted to honor the house’s iconic looks and desired methodology. The horse became the center of Aria, as models wore riding hats, boots, and halters. Many of them carried the words “SAVOY Club”, a tribute to The Savoy Hotel in London where Guccio Gucci worked as a lift boy in his youth. Other remarkable items were the crystal-atomical-heart purses and the Hortus Deliciarum pieces, Gucci’s High Jewelry collection, such as broches.

Suits, again, were a big thing in this collection. But this time around Allesandro made sure to honor Gucci’s 100th birthday with rich materials, Hollywood glitz-and-glam, and modern Marilyn Monroe moments.

In between all of this glamor, Balenciaga logos appeared. Rumors about a possible collab had been flying around for days and were confirmed by Michele and Gvasalia via Instagram moments before the show. They brought us the best of both. Balenciaga logo’ed Gucci suits, the iconic Hourglass bag in the Gucci monogram print, Balenciaga lettered Gucci jewelry and more. It’s the collaboration we never knew we needed.
