These 9 Albums Are Coming Out in February

We were spoiled with a lot of new music in January and enjoyed some pretty good projects from a.o. The Weeknd and FKA Twigs. Even though February is the shortest month of the year, we can expect a lot of very exciting releases by upcoming artists and superstars. To guide you through all the upcoming albums and mixtapes, we listed nine albums you can’t miss.

Mitski — Laurel Hell

The Japanese-American singer Mitski became a viral sensation on TikTok, which helped the established artist to gain traction among a new target audience. Her sixth album Laurel Hell promises to be a real joy and already caught our attention with great singles like “Working for the Knife” and “The Only Heartbreaker”. Not to mention that her exquisite songwriting has inspired artists like Harry Styles, and we have to say, we can’t get enough of it either.

‘Laurel Hell’ will be out on 4 February.

 Glitch — Princess

The Singaporean glitch pop star yeule is loved in the underground pop community, and luckily for us, they are celebrating the tenth anniversary of their project with a brand-new album. Glitch Princess features productions by a.o. Danny L. Harle and sees the multi-disciplinary artist explore new facets of their artistry. Their music could be the soundtrack of a post-apocalypse-themed video game but also has a subtle lightness to it. In short: yeule is an exciting pop act, and we’re curious about their full body of work.

‘Glitch Princess’ will be out on 4 February.

Foxes — The Kick

The British pop star Foxes scored some massive hits in 2014 with “Let Go For Tonight” and “Body talk”, which cemented her as part of the new generation of pop singers. In 2016 things suddenly changed, and she decided to take a little break until she announced her comeback in 2020. With newfound freedom, her third album The Kick is her big return as a singer and highlights her impressive voice that already conquered the charts a couple of years ago. Her new sound is less bombastic and feels more mature, which is a pleasant surprise. Welcome back, Foxes!

‘The Kick’ will be released on 11 February.

K.ZIA — The Genesis

We already met K.ZIA twice, and we’re always enchanted by her radiant personality and lovely presence. The Berlin-based singer makes music that calms you within seconds by combining R&B with soul and pop. The sophistication of every release has been spot on so far and indicates that her debut album The Genesis is an absolute must-listen. This is only the beginning for K.ZIA, and we’re happy to be part of her story.

‘The Genesis’ will be released on 11 February.

Sofiane Pamart — LETTER

There are only a few new artists that find a balance between modern and classical music. The French pianist Sofiane Pamart found the right balance and is often referred to as the new genius of the piano. His show sells out in no time, he works with the most interesting artists, and he continues to compose breathtaking melodies that inspire us to dream away. Sofiane Pamart is highlighting the beauty of one of the most traditional instruments and brings back a certain elegance to the current music industry.

‘LETTER’ will be released on 11 February.

Alice Glass — PREY//IV

After touring the world as one-half of the popular Canadian electro band Crystal Castles, Alice Glass took faith into her own hands and started her solo project. Glass’ music is difficult to describe, but we’ll give it a try: euphoric electro-pop with dark and industrial elements. Fans of Charli XCX’s more alternative work or Grimes will adore Alice Glass, and we can’t wait to hear her debut album Prey//IV after a handful of overwhelming singles like “BABY TEETH” and “FAIR GAME”.

‘Prey//IV’ will be released on 16 February.

Broods — Space Island

The pop duo Broods already toured with Taylor Swift, Tove Lo, and HAIM, which made them famous all over the world. Their fourth album is a brand-new era in their career and also puts the focus on visual storytelling with a breathtaking short movie series. Space Island has beautifully nuanced pop songs with haunting melodies and mesmerizing productions with strong build-ups. The sky is no longer the limit because Broods is giving us space realness.

‘Space Islandwill be released on 18 February.

Oliver Tree — Cowboy Tears

Oliver Tree’s debut album Ugly Is Beautiful already showed that Oliver Tree has a great sense of humor but also has a clear musical vision. On his second album Cowboy Tears, the “Life Goes On” singer isn’t slowing down either and continues where he left off with his first album. The music video of the lead single “Cowboys Don’t Cry” features a guest appearance by Bella Thorne and already received raving reviews.

‘Cowboy Tears’ will be released on 18 February.

Sevdaliza – Raving Dahlia

Sevdaliza’s upcoming project Raving Dahlia counts six songs and is actually an EP, but the first few singles impressed us so much that we couldn’t skip this release in our list. The Iranian-Dutch artist exceeds all our expectations and keeps dropping the greatest visuals, body of works, and live performances around. Sevdaliza is a once-in-a-generation artist and needs to be credited for her extraordinary creativity.

‘Raving Dahlia’ will be released on 25 February.
