How would you introduce Novaé Lita to someone who isn’t familiar with who you are?

I have the luck or the curse to bear the name of a celestial body. It is undoubtedly to be able to rub my shoulders with blaze more closely.

You just released your EP. What’s the common theme throughout PHANTASIA?

PHANTASIA is claiming, “If your nature is to be a walker, change your nature and fly”. We have this whole dimension of the over man—over woman wearing this armor that intervenes as an aegis—shield of Zeus—to face the world and face oneself. It’s the miracle of life and death, and what I like about pop music is that you can deal with tragic subjects with a solar note.

Is there a specific song from the project that describes you the most? If so, why?

Each piece of music is a story, an infinitesimal piece of my flesh and spirit. The guitar outro coming at the end of “Stories” is exactly saying that destruction is a step to access sublimation.

How would you describe your music style in general? Who are your main influences?

My days are punctuated by music since my arrival on earth. I grew up with a fusion/jazzman drummer—as a dad—and my mom was a dancer. So I’ve always been into eclectic melodies. It’s a large spectrum. My music is in between all these harmonies. Between water and earth, sky and fire. I mostly paint, write, and create around baroque, new wave, dream pop, italo-disco, post-punk, French pop, Latin operas, electronic music, and some I won’t name that are even more experimental! Yesterday morning I was into Oliver, Trevor Something, Johnny Jewel, George Clanton, and The Garden. Plus an old album by Lord Zane and a 1972 one from Neil young.

The visual aspect of your project is critical to you. What’s the vision you have in mind for this project?  

I admit that I’m a Bibliophile since college. Books are talismans for me, and so are movies. I was first a novelist; I have the possibility to make my music a theater full of orchestrated ideas. Every author shares these moments of solitude, and as a maximalist, what I serve to see is directly linked with a deep democracy of art, surrealism, and chaos.
