Explaining the 2024 WECANDANCE Theme in 4 alter egos: Dark, Light, Rise and Drop

Every year, WECANDANCE announces a theme and encourages festivalgoers to come dressed in their version of the theme. This year, the festival decided to do things differently. They announced four alter egos that cover a range of different vibes: DROP, LIGHT, RISE, and DARK.

With these four alter egos, WECANDANCE encourages visitors to dive into their own personalities and find their inner alter ego. In this fitting session, we explore the four alter egos and what they could look like styling-wise.

The alter egos

DROP is all about calm confidence and casual coolness. Think full denim outfits and earthy tones with distressed blue and washed brown. A denim-on-denim look does wonders for this theme! Try finishing off your look with earthy tones, such as a new Peterselie leather bag.

LIGHT shines with flowing textures and showcases your inner strength. Opt for light colors, layering transparent and breezy items. The main colors here are white, off-white, beige, and other light tones.

RISE stands out with bold looks and dazzling details. It’s all about metallic shimmers and reflections. This is probably the most difficult alter ego, as this might easily appear overdone. Try layering and keep it simple by adding a shiny detail in your makeup look.

DARK dives into your mysterious side, inviting you to explore your inner shadows. Choose leather and dark tones and wear your rave sunglasses at night. Make black leather summer-ready by cropping and showing some skin!
