You already know Doel Festival is our personal highlight of the summer when it comes to festivals. But we’re not the only ones looking forward to the festival.
Notorious Doel lovers
Ever since the iconic first edition 2 years ago, the festival has gathered a tribe of notorious party girls and enthusiasts. Some of them have a direct link with the festival, such as Naomi Kolsteren, founder of design studio Vrints-Kolsteren: “Since the start of Doel Festival, we have been developing their visual identity,” she tells us. “We see it as a continuing research into the interesting history of the city of Doel. This year we went to Doel for a few days to make a series of photographs and drawings inspired by the surroundings. This documentation formed the base of the visual identity.”
Others just love the festival and what it stands for. Brussels-based nightlife enthusiast Dylon Tihon compares Doel Festival with “an old photo album you look at once a year, but instead of watching memories you create them.”
Upcoming DJ and Doel lover since day one Ilias Van Hoof tells us the festival is a place where his inspiration reaches its peak. “The blend of the existing surroundings with the added scenography gets me very excited,” he says. “The well-thought-out lineup sparks my creativity and gets me moving and grooving. I also love supporting my friends on the lineup, especially this year with R.omy and Rozevelt delivering an incredible set at the Garage Box stage. I always come home with a bag of new ideas and a ton of energy to work on my next set or gig.”
