Cultural Ties aims to connect communities and inspire discovery by showcasing their stories, styles, and lifestyles. Each city’s streetwear culture is brought to life through carefully curated content, including interviews, original photography, style guides, handpicked hotspots, and must-visit destinations where streetwear thrives.

Antwerp

Being based in Antwerp, it comes as no surprise to us that Antwerp is one of the cities being highlighted by Zalando for its Cultural Ties project. The influence of the Antwerp Six, the fashion department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, and the new wave of upcoming designers surely have their influence on the city’s fashion landscape.

To highlight the Belgian influence on streetwear, Zalando teamed up with Brussels-based magazine Donnie Magazine for a fun shoot.

Exclusive adidas collaboration

Zalando’s Cultural Ties initiative, in collaboration with Adidas Originals, highlights the local hotspots at the core of Europe’s streetwear culture. Each featured city—Amsterdam, Antwerp, Berlin, Paris, Stockholm, and Warsaw—includes three must-visit locations, from bars to stores, known for fostering emerging streetwear subcultures.

In Berlin, Isla Berlin founder Charissa created a bold, community-driven space inspired by skate shops. “Women lacked their own spot in the scene, so I wanted to combine beauty, fashion, and music into something vibrant and inclusive,” she explains.

Zalando and Adidas Originals have launched an exclusive six-piece collection to celebrate these hubs, with each design inspired by a local hotspot. The collection will be available this December across all Zalando markets, encouraging communities to connect through shared streetwear culture.
