Hot Collab Alert: Champion x VIER

Since 2010, VIER has been setting the tone within the Belgian streetwear scene with its iconic sweaters and T-shirts featuring “Antwerp” in striking typography. They weren’t just any store; VIER was one of the first to so cleverly translate the city’s name into a fashion concept. Antwerp became a brand, a statement, worn by locals and fashion lovers worldwide. Now they’re dropping a new collab with Champion, with a different spin on the Antwerp clothes.

A legacy in streetwear

VIER Antwerp is more than just a designer and streetwear store. Established in 2010, VIER quickly built a reputation for curating an exceptional mix of Belgian fashion and international streetwear. Carrying brands like Walter Van Beirendonck, Raf Simons, Dries Van Noten, Prada, Stüssy, and Stone Island, the store bridges the gap between high fashion and underground subcultures.

Founder and creative director Giancarlo Angeletti envisioned VIER as a space where different worlds collide. Whether you’re a highbrow intellectual, a young skater, an artist, or even a soccer hooligan, the store welcomes anyone with an appreciation for style and authenticity. This inclusive approach has made VIER a hub for streetwear lovers and cultural tastemakers alike.

VIER’s in-house designs have reached far beyond Antwerp. Famous artists like Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky have sported their ‘Antwerp’ hoodies, cementing the brand’s influence on the global fashion stage. Even legendary designer Raf Simons has cited VIER Antwerp as one of his favorite stores, reinforcing its status as a must-visit destination for fashion enthusiasts.

Merging Streetwear and Football Culture

A defining moment for VIER came in 2014 when Angeletti collaborated with the Antwerp Casual Crew (ACC), the hooligan firm of Royal Antwerp Football Club. This controversial yet highly praised collaboration strengthened VIER’s position as a fearless brand unafraid to embrace the raw energy of football culture. Over the years, VIER has also worked with influential creatives like Belgian fashion photographer Willy Vanderperre and painter Rinus Van de Velde, further embedding itself in the artistic and fashion worlds.

VIER’s influence extends beyond retail. Angeletti has collaborated on designs with brands such as Sebago, Vans Vault, Facetasm, and Comme des Garçons. In 2022, he launched his first ready-to-wear collection, with plans to continue under the name Service Area, proving that VIER is not just a store but a movement shaping Antwerp’s streetwear culture.

VIER x Champion

VIER Antwerp is about more than just clothing: it’s also about storytelling and culture. Now, the brand takes another unexpected step with its latest collaboration with Champion, one of the most iconic names in sportswear.

The collection is not just another co-branded line. It marks a historic moment in fashion: for one of the few times ever—outside of a collaboration with Vetements—Champion has allowed its legendary logo to be modified. The new pieces feature the word “Antwerp” integrated into the Champion emblem, a testament to the deep mutual respect between the two brands.

VIER’s ability to redefine the aesthetic of traditional streetwear is evident in this collection. By fusing Champion’s heritage with Antwerp’s vibrant and rebellious spirit, the collaboration pays tribute to both the city and its influence on global fashion. The pieces serve as an ode to Antwerp’s streets, its people, and the underground culture that has shaped VIER from the start.

With this partnership, VIER continues to solidify its status as more than just a retailer—it remains a true pioneer in street fashion, unafraid to challenge norms and celebrate the cultural roots that define its identity. This collection with Champion is not just about clothes; it’s about legacy, respect, and a city’s unbreakable connection to style.

The collection is now available in store.
