8 Sneakers Worth Talking About This Season

Buying sneakers this season feels a little… complicated. The desire is still there, sneakers remain a cornerstone of the wardrobe, but the excitement doesn’t always come as easily as it once did. The endless scroll of drops and collaborations can leave you underwhelmed. And yet, when the right pair appears, the heart still skips a beat.

Maison Margiela’s Sprinters are a perfect example: modern, a little unexpected, and very much in line with the brand’s playful rigor. Dries Van Noten continues to prove that his take on sneakers has genuine staying power, fashion-forward without trying too hard. Then there are the Ann Demeulemeester Palne high-top boxing sneakers, equal parts dramatic and wearable, as if designed for both the runway and real life.

The classics, meanwhile, remain reassuringly strong. New Balance Made in UK retains its place as a quiet favorite. Adidas Originals still earns its spot in rotation. Puma’s Speedcat, especially in the ton-sur-ton Represent edition, delivers a sleek, streamlined silhouette. The WMNS Air Superfly LX Pony Hair Sneaker: black, refined, with just enough edge to elevate an all-black look into something quietly striking. And finally, adding a touch of romance alongside these icons, the ASICS × SHUSHU/TONG GEL-Kinetic Fluent introduces a coquette-meets-sport aesthetic: ruffled lace trims set against mesh and synthetic leather, like delicate tutus reimagined for the street.
