Ann Demeulemeester SS25 KIDS Brings LA’s Creative Underground to Life

For the third edition of KIDS, Ann Demeulemeester’s visual diary, creative director Stefano Gallici trades Europe’s familiar atmosphere for the vibrant energy of Los Angeles. Captured with an instinctive and analog gaze, this Spring/Summer 2025 chapter unfolds as a warm, intimate walkthrough of a city Gallici now calls his second home – one that shapes both the tone and soul of the project.

“Los Angeles is starting to feel like a new home for me,” Gallici shares. “Every time I return there’s this immediate sense of familiarity. It’s a place where I feel deeply connected to my creative process. Working here feels effortless – the city’s energy flows naturally, and everything comes intuitively. It’s as if I already know how the project will evolve before it even begins.”

Faces of the LA underground

At the heart of the LA chapter is a diverse cast that reflects the city’s multifaceted creative landscape. Gallici assembled a constellation of individuals who mirror LA’s dynamic cultural fabric. “LA has become a space for constant exploration, where I meet new people, form meaningful connections, and build on the ideas that seamlessly integrate into KIDS.” The cast includes producer and guitarist Chris Greatti, experimental musician Dove Armitage, film archivist Bella Scaffidi, actress and singer Sophie Thatcher, and musician-model Nico Geyer – each offering a lens into the many faces of a city in perpetual transformation.

Chris Greatti and Dove Armitage represent two different but complementary facets of Los Angeles’ creative energy. Greatti, known for his glam-rock attitude and industrial beats, is the creative mastermind behind the dark-pop project Glitter Moneyyy. Collaborations with artists like Yungblud and Kim Petras have shaped his bold, rebellious sound. Armitage, a multidisciplinary artist, poet, and producer, brings a contrasting, introspective approach. Blending avant-pop with ambient textures, she crafts immersive, emotionally charged soundscapes. Together, they embody LA’s dynamic contrasts – loud and soft, raw and refined.

Isabella Scaffidi, a writer, model, and film archivist, explores themes of identity and loss. Her work, which includes installations using mirrors and organic materials, has been exhibited at the Venice Biennale and the Hammer Museum. She currently works across three archives in LA while continuing to model freelance.

Actress and musician Sophie Thatcher’s raw, emotionally charged style blends mystery and power. One defining moment from the project took place during a golden-hour shoot at her Hollywood Hills home, with Belle and Sebastian’s The Boy with the Arab Strap playing in the background. “That scene crystallized everything,” says Gallici. “The direction, the mood, the feeling – it all aligned.”

More than a fashion campaign

Nico Geyer, musician and photographer, leads the alternative rock band Nitefire, formed during the pandemic. Their vibrant backyard shows in 2022 helped them gain a local following and have since released three EPs, with a debut album set for late 2025. Nico also explores photography and direction, bridging his passions for fashion, documentary, and music video.

This third edition of KIDS captures the energy of Los Angeles – its chaos, beauty, and blurred edges. By adding video, also shot on Super8, Gallici brings even more movement and emotion to the story, showing how the city constantly shifts and inspires. Infused with the raw, eclectic pulse of LA’s cultural undercurrent, the project is more than a fashion campaign. It’s a living, breathing collaboration between creatives who blur the lines between art, fashion, music, and identity.
