Backstage at Acne Studios Ready-to-Wear Spring 2021

The Swedish luxury fashion house Acne Studios presented their ready-to-wear Spring collection 2021 this Wednesday, 30 November, in Paris. Here’s what it looked like backstage.

Spiritual, light, and textured

The Spring collection is about liberation, transformation, and personal rebirth. To pull that off, Acne Studios collaborated with LA artist Ben Quinn. His work is inspired by all things supernatural and matches perfectly to the spiritual theme. Take for example the oversized metallic tunic with his painting of a pulsating star printed on. A match made in heaven!

Magpies would lose their head over this collection because everything is just so shiny. The focus is light: there are many reflective accessories, a dip-dyed trench in pearlescent organza, and a metallic shift dress in crinkled, iridescent paper, for instance.

Besides that, Acne Studios played with fabrics of different weights, weaves, and textures to create a poetic silhouette. Crochet knits are everywhere: as fishing nets for bandeau tops, knickers, skirts, or as layering-pieces under, for example, a leather sleeveless dress.
