Celebrate Your Staycation With Kim Petras’ New Summer Bop ‘Malibu’

While many of your summer plans are getting canceled, Kim Petras is planning her big return after a phenomenal year. Already almost a year ago, her critically acclaimed debut ‘Clarity’ conquered pop culture fans, but it was her bop-filled Halloween album ‘TURN OFF THE LIGHT’ that came for the wigs. Since the tour is over and Petras is back, she took the time to work on new music with “Malibu” being her first release since “Reminds Me”.

The ’80s are musically back in business thanks to big releases like Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia or The Weeknd’s After Hours, but we can also add Kim’s new single “Malibu” to the list. The feel-good pop song has a disco and funk-inspired vibe, which gets us dancing from start to finish. A groovy bass line makes the song irresistibly fun to listen to and makes us hit repeat over and over again.

“Malibu” is absolutely an exciting release for Kim because it can be associated with her bubbly electro-pop from her early eras. The vocals are once again crazy good and make us fall in love with the German singer even more. “Malibu” is the song we needed to survive our staycation. Woo ah!
