In the ’90s, when fashion and the soccer culture were very close, it was all about Adidas and Massimo Osti — who famously founded apparel brands Stone Island and C.P. Company. The two brands kind of introduced “terracewear” to the world. It’s a mystery why it took them this long to collaborate on a collection, but better late than never!
“It was so great, so challenging, that both companies were putting their hands on these truly iconic pieces simultaneously,” says Paul Harvey of the C.P. Company design team. “And also, which was equally amazing, there was never any single, fundamental point where we didn’t immediately ‘get’ each other. Working with that kind of understanding is very special indeed.”
“They let you express outside how you feel inside. This isn’t some marketing operation – it’s a collaboration that pays homage to the loyalty of our fanbase,” adds Lorenzo Osti, son of C.P. Company founder Massimo Osti. “It couldn’t be more authentic, because the love of the two brands was already there. We just made it official.”
The Adidas x C.P. Company collaboration will launch on August 24 via the brand’s webshop and selected stores.
