“I like to keep irony in my work; I like to make people laugh. It’s important we don’t always take ourselves too seriously.” — Valentine Tinchant
Trash!
For her graduation collection at the Florence-based fashion school, Valentine Tinchant found inspiration in the waste of fashion and came up with the idea to work with upcycling. Using her own trash, such as cigarette packs, cookie packaging, and ripped-up magazines, Valentine Tinchant created ten looks for her graduation collection. With collages of metal chains, picked flowers, her own nudes, and pictures of babies from a book from the ‘70s, Valentine Tinchant describes her clothing line as “extra” but still manages to create wearable and comfy garments.
