Dries Van Noten x Christian Lacroix
Today’s political, economic and environmental climate left Van Noten thirsting for all that is maximalist, optimistic, flamboyant, inclusive and enchantingly extravagant. There is a place for powerful opulence, exaggeration and fun which was clearly proven throughout Dries Van Noten’s breathtaking Spring/Summer 2020 ready-to-wear collection in collaboration with the great Christian Lacroix.
For this collection, Belgian designer Dries Van Noten turned to the maximalism of the ’80s and ’90s Parisian couture scene. A time in space when whimsy could be expressed through serious craft and vision with vivid power. That era in time was marked by the talented Christian Lacroix and today Van Noten’s wish to work with him came true.
From the beginning of the show until the end, we were left in awe with every SS20 silhouette that was sent down the runway. Whether it was the mixed up prints, embellished blazers and jackets, flamboyant gowns with ostrich feathers, the long coats and floral print Dries Van Noten is known for.
