Fest Opened Its Second Belgian Flagship Store in Ghent

FEST, the Dutch brand for affordable design, opened its second flagship store in Belgium this week. With its 500 m², it’s the largest one so far. It even has a small cinema in the basement where you can test your future couch in a red velvet version.

How it started

Whoever had to decorate a place about a decade ago probably still remembers that it was quite a struggle. You either bought Ikea, invested in expensive design furniture, or went vintage. There weren’t that many brands that offered something in between. This was also the problem FEST founder Femke Furnée ran into. That’s why she decided to launch her own brand in 2013.

How it’s going

FEST is being sold in more than 20 countries worldwide, just opened its fourth flagship in the Netherlands, and now its second store in Belgium.

FEST Ghent was designed by Pepijn Smith from S-P-A-C-E projects, who created a playful, yet sophisticated environment with loads of organic shapes and eye-catching colors. As you could read in the introduction, there’s even a small cinema in the basement where you can test your favorite couch in a red velvet version. The idea behind this is that buying a new couch is an important investment. Therefore it requires you to decently test your future sofa so that you can be sure it’s both beautiful and comfortable.
