Sun of Sound is Slimane’s first solo exhibition since his Sonic project in 2014. And although many associate the Paris-born mastermind with high fashion, as they should, his forte has always been photography. This time around he brings back his long-lived love for unretouched black and white snapshots. These shots spread over a wide timeline starting somewhere in 2006, giving them a raw and gritty feeling in today’s hyper-resolution society.
Through this Sun of Sound presentation, his adoration for music shines through. Portraits of legends like Lou Reid, Keith Richards, and Amy Winehouse are hung between an immersive sound installation that symbolizes Slimane’s love of exploring music.
