Antwerp-Based Designer Maddalena Anunziata Wants to Start a Cashmere Revolution

German/Italian fashion designer Maddalena Anunziata graduated from the prestigious Fashion Academy in Antwerp in 2012. After working for designers such as Christian Wijnants and Sharon Wauchob, she decided to launch her own project: a knitwear collection made from high-quality materials, with respect for people and the environment.

Transparency is key

Maddalena, who still lives in Antwerp, rightly noticed that the only shopping bags you still see are from Primark. This is one of the main reasons she decided to join the discussion about the relationship between the worth and price of clothing. Customers deserve transparency, they need to know where the item they’re buying is made and under which conditions.

Her knitwear and accessory collection are entirely produced in Italy and made from high-quality cashmere and merino wool. All garments she uses are 100% natural and certified by internationally recognized organizations. Maddalena made it possible to keep the retail price of her collection low by only selling online. Less intermediaries equals less costs that in the end are paid by the customers.

Supporting young talent

At the moment her project still finds itself in a test phase. In order to produce her first collection and to really start spreading the word she launched a crowdfunding campaign. Maddalena needs to gather € 20.000  in order to produce her first collection.

If you have some shopping budget left, you might consider investing rather than spending it. After all, December is the month of kindness.
