The reason why Hood By Air is having a fashion hiatus

Latest news in the fashion industry is that Shayne Oliver, game changer and designer of Hood By Air, will be focusing more on the creative process of a capsule collection for the relaunch of Helmut Lang.

Back in February, the New York-based fashion house announced that it was no longer presenting their Fw17 collection during fashion week. Allowing designer Shayne Oliver to devote all of his time to the collection, to be launched in September. The compilation will consist of womenswear, menswear and accessories.

A hiatus is only a hiatus

Hood By Air isn’t the only one taking a break, so let’s give him a break! Because bigger names in the fashion industry like Raf Simons and Anthony Vaccarello took their time off too to focus on new roles yet still they came out to be stronger than ever. Maybe because their past collections were so sought after. On top of that, the garments are still being sold, resold, auctioned and so on, until this day.

This isn’t the first time HBA took a hiatus. A while back, Oliver took 3 years off to relaunch in 2012. At Enfnts Terribles our general opinion on it is that a break can do good for the creative process of the brand. Because we’re sure they will make a pretty strong comeback.

What do you think? Will people still be as hyped for future Hood By Air collections after the hiatus? Share your opinion in the comment box below.
