Hospitality Venture the Addresses Offers Luxury in the South of Portugal

It has been a very long, long year, but it finally seems like there is light at the end of the tunnel. More and more countries are opening up again, and when the borders finally open, it’s the perfect time to let yourself be carried away by the beauty and tranquility of the Algarve in Portugal. And we know just the place for you: the Addresses, a new hospitality venture that offers beautiful private guesthouses in the south of Portugal.

Inspired by their shared love for Portuguese culture, nature, and the way of life, Belgians Bert Jeuris and Ludovic Beun founded the Addresses. Besides the curated travel tips and the hotel services, the Addresses is a fine example of stunning architecture and design. The award-winning Portuguese architectural collective Atelier Rua renovated each guesthouse, creating a seamless blend between old and new. And the creative studio Studio Stories complements the architecture with the design.

Three guesthouses

The work results in each guesthouse having its own large outdoor area or a garden with a swimming pool. Add to that the stunning beaches, delicious foods, and charming villages, all with a concierge, and you’re basically in heaven. Besides the already existing guesthouse, a second guesthouse just opened up: Casa Um and the newly-renovated Casa Dois.

Casa Um

Casa Um or ‘First house’ is located in the peaceful countryside of Portugal. Close to the city of Tavira, the renovated shepherd’s house offers beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean. And while the city is nearby, Casa Um’s remote location offers you the perfect chance to slow down from your hectic life in style. The renovated windows offer a great view of the interior courtyard, the terraces, and the garden. At the end of the house, the former stables are now a dining room that offers a beautiful view of the pool and the surrounding landscape.

If you want to go and explore your surroundings, Casa Um is near one of Europe’s most stunning nature reserves, Ria Formosa, and the beach is only 10 minutes away. The city Tavira and the fishing village Olhão are only 20 minutes away, just like the airport of Faro.

Casa Um sleeps eight people and starts from €1.600 a week.

Casa Dois

This former fishing warehouse located in the heart of Olhão was transformed into a modern townhouse with a Mediterranean atmosphere. It’s the perfect place for those who love to stay in the atmosphere of the city but want serenity when they’re home. And if you love food, Olhão is the place to be to buy fresh seafood. Casa Dois consists of two stories and two bedrooms with an ensuite bathroom. The light comes in through the preserved arches and offers access to the patio and a plunge pool that will be a blessing after a hot day strolling around the village.

The guesthouse is a stone’s throw away from the biggest fish market of the Algarve. Eighty meters away from the house, you can even find taxi boats that can take you to one of the deserted islands. Since Olhão is the capital of the nature reserve Ria Formosa, it’s only a 10-minute ride to the entrance of the park and 15 minutes to the airport. Sounds like a perfect city trip if you ask us!

Casa Dois sleeps four people and starts from €1.200 a week.
