JUDASSIME Debuts With First Collection ‘If We Were Made of Meat’

The story of the Antwerp-based Benjamin Voortmans is a clear example of why you should never give up on your dreams. After missing out on his chance to study at the critically-acclaimed Fashion Department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, he was even more determined to bring his visions to life. Months of hard work result in a daring first fashion collection of his own brand JUDASSIME.

The 20-year-old designer and performance artist aims for fuss and motion with his first collection. The date of the digital fashion show wasn’t a coincidence but is Voortmans’ statement towards the Fashion Department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, whose show was a day later.

If We Were Made Of Meat

In his debut collection, Benjamin Voortmans criticizes shamefully normalized elements in our modern society like overconsumption, animal abuse, and mass production by reversing the roles and transforming his models into beasts. The dramatic sewing and use of vegan and eco-friendly fabric and materials show his artistic vision and tell a story.
