Judassime’s New Collection On Glamorization Of Abuse In Old Hollywood

Benjamin, the mind behind the upcoming fashion brand Judassime, drew their inspiration for a new semi-couture collection from a unique place: the powerful stories of abused women in Old Hollywood. With the collection, ‘The Wrong Deal’, they brought the stories of these women to life. The collection counts 15 looks, each with its own identity and emotions.

Once Benjamin read about the stories of women selling their bodies and identities to big industries mostly run by men, it felt like a story they needed to tell. The couture garments in this collection visually represent these hurt yet confident and beautiful women. ‘The Wrong Deal’ is Judassime’s second collection, following the first collection inspired by animal abuse.

Recycled fabric and cruelty-free

‘The Wrong Deal’ came to life using a variety of techniques. Benjamin used mainly dead-stock and recycled fabrics and focused on only vegan and cruelty-free leathers and furs. They layered these fabrics, which resulted in intriguing looks.

You can go see Judassime’s new collection in real life during his exhibition at Maasstraat 65 in Antwerpexhibition at Maasstraat 65 in Antwerp, from 22 April  until 1 May.
