KOMONO Collaborates With Igor Dieryck and Tak Jiyeon of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp

The city of Antwerp is still reminiscing about the show of The Royal Academy of Fine Arts 2022, and two master’s students are already launching a collaboration with KOMONO. The collab “Future Forward” includes two sunglasses that are linked to their personal work at the Academy.

Igor Dieryck

The collection of master’s student Igor Dieryck is named ‘YESSIR’. Igor was inspired by a hotel lobby and the relations between the people in the lobby. The eyewear represents champaign bottles, and the depth of the frames indicates the distance between a waiter while serving a customer champaign.

Tak Jiyeon

The “Knives Out” collection of master’s student Tak Jiyeon is based on a certain attitude. The eyewear design shows key wounds or scars from knights’ sword dueling fights, which is linked to being protective, disobedient, and rebellious. This overall dark and twisted atmosphere fits perfectly with Tak’s master collection for the Academy.

The collection was launched during the annual graduation show of the Academy and is now available on the website of KOMONO.
