Describe your style in one sentence.
Catherine Deneuve in Belle de Jour meets Patty Hearst at a Can concert.
What do you always put on?
I love a fancy scarf and the Robert Piguet’s Fracas perfume.
You have a sartorial sweet spot for the ’60s and ’70s style. Why is that?
During those times, people were creating a world in which it looked and sounded cool to live. A world where music and fashion indeed went hand in hand. You didn’t wear something just because it was on trend. It was more about making a real statement. When a girl wore a miniskirt in the ’60s, it meant that you probably were going to see her later at a Rolling Stones concert. Nowadays, people walk around with New York Dolls T-shirts, and they have no idea that it was even a band. That would never have happened in the ’70s.
What is your trick for making retro pieces feel and look modern?
I pair them with new pieces. I never wear head to toe vintage.
What do you think of the outfits you wore for the shoot with & Other Stories?
I love the outfits, they’re all up my alley, but I’ve been dreaming of that jumpsuit! Also, I really need that plain white T-shirt. It reminds me of a perfectly worn-in vintage 50/50 T-shirt.
What are some things you admire about how other women present themselves?
I admire women who look confident and comfortable in what they’re wearing and, most importantly, that they don’t take themselves too seriously.
