Levi’s Invites You to Customize Your Jeans and Celebrate 501 Day

This weekend, on the 20th of May to be exact, Levi’s is celebrating the 145th birthday of its original button fly jeans. That special birthday is also known as 501 day. The brand is organizing co-creation workshops in collaboration with Brussels-based artist Nico Bellagio and Amsterdam-based creatives Texas Schiffmacher and Yung Nnelg.

Levi’s lovers are welcome at the Antwerp store to participate in one of the co-creation workshops. The celebrations start at 12 and will end at 7 PM. Rapper Yung Nnelg, photographer Texas Schiffmacher and art director/producer Nico Bellagio each created an exclusive design that will be available to print on your old or new 501 jeans.

Silk printing of the exclusive prints will be available all day long. From 12 to 4 PM there will be a workshop session for sketching, ripping and patching by Texas Schiffmacher. From 4 PM until 7 PM you can take a braiding & lace class. Which are Levi’s’ latest techniques for customizing. The best thing about all of this? It’s free! You can buy a new pair of jeans to customize or just take your old ones to the store to give them an upgrade. Customizing is the ideal thing to do with jeans that have been lying in your closet for way too long. It’s like giving them a second life!

At 5.01 PM, an exclusive 501 gig will happen, with a performance by Yung Nnelg and DJ set by Nico Bellagio. For more info, check the Facebook event. See you there?
