1. Hong Kong Boyfriend — Tiramisu

Hong Kong Boyfriend blessed our ears this week with a new release: “Tiramisu”. The young singer, who was born in Japan and raised in San Francisco, released his debut single “Cold Waters” last month, and we’re not mad at getting his second single so quickly, especially because it’s such a refreshing new one.

In alternative R&B style, “Tiramisu” is about loving someone you’re not supposed to be with, à la Romeo and Juliet. Bonus: Hong Kong Boyfriend will release more music before the end of the year.

2. RORI — Truth Hurts

You may know Belgian singer RORI as part of the electro-pop duo Beffroi but this summer, RORI took her first steps as a solo artist with her impressive debut single “Gonna Get Mine”. Now, she treats us to an even catchier song called “Truth Hurts”, so be prepared to want to dance as this single is quite energetic and dynamic. Also, shout-out to the beautiful 3D art in the video, it’s so mesmerizing!

3. Carlie Hanson — Ego (ft. iann dior)

Sit down and let Carlie Hanson speak. At 14, Carlie Hanson was inspired by Justin Bieber to start with music. At the age of 20, she definitely found her own unique pop sound, which she showcased on her debut album Junk last year. On her new single “Ego”, Carlie Hanson provides us with quite a dose of attitude and rhythm and gives the Puerto Rican-American rapper iann dior enough space to unfold himself.

4. Lupa J — Supermarket Riots

If the coronavirus did one thing “right”, it’d be that the pandemic inspired many artists to produce new art. The same goes for Australian singer Lupa J, who brought out a single “Supermarket Riots” this week.

When Lupa J saw the videos of thousands of people running to the supermarket and hoarding toilet paper at the start of lockdown, they felt overwhelmed and perplexed and put those feelings into this futuristic pop song. It’s not their only coronavirus-inspired song, as Lupa J will release a mini-album in November, about how they experienced the last few months.

5. boy pablo — be with me and leave me alone

This week, the Chilean-Norwegian singer-songwriter Nicolas Muñoz, a.k.a boy pablo, did not only give us one but two new singles in the run-up to his debut album, Wachito Rico, next month. Although boy pablo is just 20 years old, he writes, records, and produces all of his music. “be with me” and “leave me alone” immerse you in that summer feeling, with Chilean influences and great dance beats. “be with me” is calmer than “leave me alone”, but both deserve a spot on your playlist!

6. Ruby Grace — No More Dreams

Ruby Grace is the Belgian, glittery pop idol we all need in our lives. Her new single “No More Dreams”, is slower than her more energetic singles like “Jawbreaker” and “My Gem” but still finds its way to our hearts. Ruby Grace shared on Youtube that she wrote this personal song a year ago in her dairy when she had nightmares every night. She tried to process her dreams by writing about them, which eventually led to this great single!

7. Yung Mavu — Mavu Flow Freestyle

Belgian hip hop sensation Yung Mavu blew up three years ago with his track “Black Magic”, a Harry Potter freestyle video that has been viewed over 28 million times. Since then, he’s been releasing single after single, determined to make it big in the international hip hop scene. Last year, he released his debut EP Hi, I’m Pierre, which was followed by a second EP Matter Of Time. Now, he’s dropping his new single: “Mavu Flow Freestyle” with quite a beat!

8. Dorian Electra — Edgelord (ft. Rebecca Black)

American singer-songwriter Dorian Electra is known for their experimental pop music. In 2019, they released their debut studio album Flamboyant, followed by a deluxe edition this year. To introduce everyone to their new era, they released their catchy newest single “Edgelord”, featuring the American singer Rebecca Black. “Edgelord” will be the ninth track of their second album My Agenda, coming out 16 October, 2020.

9. ZAYN — Better

It’s been quite an exciting week for ZAYN, who we all know as a former 1D member and from his single “Pillowtalk”. Not only did the British singer become a father a few days ago, but he also released the official music video to his new single “Better”. With the guitar and his soft voice, ZAYN makes us feel the romance. We’re excited to hear more!

10. ALOK & Ilkay Sencan (feat. Tove Lo) — Don’t Say Goodbye

Last but not least, we love the single “Don’t Say Goodbye”. Pop queen Tove Lo is known as an artist who loves to work with different DJs and producers, so it’s no surprise that she released another collab. The new single “Don’t Say Goodbye” is a collaboration with Brazilian producer ALOK and Turkish DJ Ilkay Sencan and has a calm vibe that still makes us want to dance along.
