LIVESTREAM: Louis Vuitton Women’s Fall-Winter 2019

Ending Paris Fashion Week in style, Nicolas Ghesquière presented his Louis Vuitton Women’s Fall-Winter 2019 collection at the Musée du Louvre. It was an invitation to cultural references, geolocated at and inspired by Beaubourg and Centre Pompidou. Two famous Parisian locations known for attracting a fusion of different people and cliques.

Nicolas Ghesquière traveled a few decades back in time in order to create a collection inspired by those people and cliques. He returned to an era in which Instagram and the World Wide Web didn’t have any influence on how people looked: like some kind of copy of everyone else.

This resulted in an eclectic collection with an obvious wink to the ’80s. High waisted jumpsuits, shoulder pads and ruffled dresses. After a lot of classic, bourgeois influences prevailing fashion week, this felt like a sweet, playful intermezzo.
