Looks We Want to See at Festivals This Summer

Whether you’re heading to Paradise city, Dour, or something a little more low-key, these are the looks we’re hoping to spot dancing in the dust (or mud) this summer. Festivals are a place where fashion rules were made to be broken. So mix the crochet with the sequin, and pair a graphic tee with hotpants. We’ll see you in the crowd.

Polka dots

Forget dainty tea dresses. Think polka dots on oversized shirts, layered over bike shorts, or printed on sheer tights under ripped denim. The trick is to offset the sweetness with something rougher, combat boots, spiked jewelry, or a messy eyeliner look that says, “I’ve been dancing since 2 p.m.”

Hotpants & statement tees

The bolder, the better. They’re surprisingly wearable, ultra breathable, and let’s be honest, perfect for spontaneous dancing in a sudden downpour. Toughen them up with leather boots, and take a cue from Lara Violetta by styling them with statement pieces. Speaking of statements: graphic tees are officially back, and none have captured our hearts (or feeds) quite like Conner Ives’s viral “Protect The Dolls” shirt.

Puma speedcats & Puma ballerina

Sleek, slinky, and made for dancing, Puma Speedcats, originally created for motorsport, are now the preferred choice for raving girls who know comfort doesn’t have to kill style. Expect to see them styled with everything from cargos to slip dresses.

Tanktop layering

Inspired by minimalist sportswear from the early 2000s, this trend is all about texture, tone, and effortless cool. It’s sexy, understated, and perfect for summer.

Hair & hats

Sweaty dancefloors and surprise showers call for hair that holds up and hats that stand out. Think slicked-back buns with claw clips, braided details woven with beads or ribbon, or soft curls left to do their thing under the sun. As for headwear, it’s all about personality. Vintage baseball caps are going strong, but Crochet hats with pearls and lace bandanas are claiming their moment too.

Sequins

Sequins are making a full-blown comeback, and not just at New Year’s. Festival season is their natural habitat, think cropped halters, or disco-ball bralettes. By day, you’re shimmering under the sun; by night, you’re part of a light show.
